How to create a personal portfolio website in 5 mins for FREE without writing code?
Build your dream portfolio in 5 mins for FREE, no coding required.
What’s the best way to showcase your work? A Personal Portfolio.
And because it’s the most effective way of putting yourself out there, no surprise - there are 100+ websites out there that specialise in creating portfolios. The average subscription? Around $10/month.
But here’s the fun part: in this article, I’ll show you how to build a stunning portfolio website in just 5 minutes - without writing a single line of code. And yes, it’s absolutely FREE for anyone to follow along.
Step 1 - Gather your resume + LinkedIn profile
Let’s start simple.
You already have your resume, right? Perfect.
Now for LinkedIn - head over to your profile, click on the last CTA (the "More" button), and hit Save to PDF. That’s it! You’ll now have your entire LinkedIn profile saved neatly as a PDF file.
Step 2 - Use ChatGPT with this prompt
Open ChatGPT and copy-paste this exact prompt:
Act as an expert designer with over a decade of experience in building stunning portfolios. I want to design a personal portfolio website for myself on Lovable. I will attach my resume and LinkedIn profile for you to get the information and context.
Here is my LinkedIn URL - <https://www.linkedin.com/in/anjalisharmaaa/>
Create an interactive, premium-looking personal portfolio website with all the relevant sections. Give the Lovable prompt for this website as an output.
A couple of quick tips to customise:
If you’re looking for a specific role, just add a line like: “I am looking for Product Management roles.”
Have a design reference in mind? Drop the URL in the prompt.
Got extra links - like your blog, book, newsletter, mentorship page, or side projects? Add those too!
Finally, replace my LinkedIn URL with your own, attach your resume + LinkedIn PDF, and you’re good to go.
Step 3 – Build your website on Lovable
Now comes the exciting part.
Lovable is a platform where you can build apps and websites simply by writing prompts. If you’re curious about these kinds of platforms, check out my detailed guide on Vibe Coding and the best tools to build apps without touching code.
Here’s what to do:
Go to Lovable.dev
Sign in with your account
Paste the response you got from ChatGPT into the first text input window
💡 Pro tip: Free accounts get 5 credits per day - more than enough to create a clean, static portfolio site.
Once you hit enter, Lovable will start working its magic.
Give it a minute, and tadaaaa - your portfolio website is ready!
Making edits
Didn’t like something? Want to tweak a section? Just type your changes into the text box and hit enter again. For changing anything specific, you can click on the Edit option from the chatbox, mention your changes, and click Enter. Lovable updates it instantly.
Publishing your site
When you’re happy with the design, click on Publish (top right corner).
You can edit your URL.
If you have a custom domain, you can connect it - but that’s a premium feature.
For now, stick with the free Lovable-generated link.
Click publish, copy the link, and you’re live. 🚀
That’s it - your portfolio is ready!

Share the link on your socials, add it to your resume, or drop it directly with recruiters.
The best part? You’re not just showcasing your experience - you’re also flexing your vibe coding skills in the process.
